Born and raised in the South Coast of Kenya, Khalid Njowa professionally started art when he joined NIAAD, a university of arts in Uganda. His work includes Affirmative Art (an art tool that helps people identify their life purpose), paintings, sculptures, mosaics, whereby he mainly uses recycled materials. Khalid's philospohy is "Art is not there to be criticised or taught, but to be advanced," and he believes and hopes that this is the kind of value artists should place in their work. Khalid had held a solo exhibition at Masai Mbili Art Center in Nairobi, Kenya. His work was also exhibited in Humberg, Germany, Makerere University in Uganada, Kyoto Restaurant in Kampala, Uganda, and the NIADD Art Gallery in Uganda.
