Martha Keller

Martha’s fiction has appeared in Roanoke Review, Bridge Eight, Brilliant Flash Fiction, Wraparound South, and elsewhere. She is also a reader for Flash Fiction Magazine. Over the years, she’s worked in strip malls, skyscrapers, and high school classrooms. She lives with her family at the end of a long narrow trail somewhere outside of Chicago.

When the woman’s voice comes over the intercom, the students are taking a test. This is a lockdown drill, the voice says. Behave as if there is an active shooter in the halls.
