A Father’s Last Conversation 

Whether God exists has never been the real divider,

but the interpretation of what God is.

Duped into slavery, they believed working as serfs would help them pay back the White Establishment of the New World for helping them come to America, settle in, and own lands. They got buried deep into servitude and Stockholm Syndrome to fight back.

Although proven that darker skin is healthier and better preserved than lighter skin, the black man hates his skin color. The afro-textured hair is thought to better regulate the body temperature, yet she hates her hair texture.

The Black man focuses on his physics, the only assets he counts on. He celebrates his larger body stature and becomes the best athlete he can be. He develops his vocal and dexterous talents and becomes the best artist he can be. In lieu of money, he develops his sexual prowess and myth as bargaining power. 

The African brain although proven to be intelligent to the savant yet remains uncelebrated. Africa has more natural resources than any other continent yet viewed as the poorest.

It took me 20 years to appreciate the magnitude of our last conversation. His most significant other imprint was Douglas Malloch’s poem: “Be the Best of Whatever You Are.”
