with a fake night sky
or a bowling alley
with neon fake night sky

this fake sky
has two moons made of
dryer lint
I’m sorry about that
their dust rains down
sometimes
onto you
sometimes
onto the head of a squirrel

I’m not sure how aware
the squirrel is of the origins
of dust, but I can tell you
it was invented by humans
(you and me!)
because we wanted to have
insides with no outsides
and now the outside
is dust too

I’m sorry we got to this point
we’re kind of both
at fault here if I’m honest
but your hair looks great and
I’m sure you’d look great
under a real sky too
