DJ Lee's nonfiction essays and poetry have appeared in numerous literary and academic journals, including Narrative, About Place, and Terrain, and she has been a finalist in contests and has won a number of awards. She is the author/editor of eight books, including The Land Speaks (Oxford) and Remote: Finding Home in the Bitterroots (Oregon State). DJ's hand papermaking has been shown at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Pullman, WA, and at Common Area Maintenance Gallery in Seattle. DJ Lee is Regents Professor of literature and creative writing at Washington State University.
